In his last posthumously completed work, the old master of Iranian cinema once again turned to the main theme of his last decade: the union of poetry, painting and photography in moving images, the role of cinema as a mediator between nature and art. Kiarostami revives and animates old photos and paintings in 24 miniatures. The result is a meditative picture book full of quiet irony and small stories, spiritual depth and also dismay at the current state of the world.
