The teacher Bakhtiyar was transferred to the Kurdish-speaking part of Iran. Social surveillance at home and at school makes it difficult for him and his family to arrive. At some point, a car seems to follow him. He becomes the object of suspicion and libel from his neighbours, a wheelwork of repression and rumours begins. Starting from concrete details and everyday events, “Namo” gradually becomes an oppressive parable of social paranoia and control.
Nader Saeivar made his directorial debut together with the well-known filmmaker Jafar Panahi.
