He has witnessed and helped to shape the important cultural and political upheavals in the USA and yet remains connected to Iran through language, family and his work. A personal film about identity, exile and belonging in times of globalization. Laureate of the Tehran Film Festival “Cinema Verité“.

Maryam Sepehri (born in Gorgan) moved to Tehran at the age of 17. First she studied medicine, then film (2010) and photography (2012). Since then she has made short films, exhibited photographs, published short stories and travelogues and translated them from English into Persian. The documentaries “Rain Once Again” (2012) and “Thicker than Paint” (2013) were followed by “Mouth Harp in Minor Key: Hamid Naficy in/on Exile”, which received awards for the best film and the best original music at the Tehran Cinema Verite Film Festival.
