Original version in Farsi with English subtitles.

Beitollah calls in a group of men willing to work via a newspaper advertisement and recruits the least religious of them, Shoja. The two of them set off together in search of a treasure that is said to be in one of the caves in the north of Iran. Their wandering through desert landscapes, between caravanserais and abandoned fortresses becomes a surreal and mystical odyssey. Rasti’s debut is reminiscent of Jodorowski, Luis Bunuel and Howard Hawks and yet has its own inimitable style.

Followed by a discussion with the filmmaker Aliyar Rasti (Tehran).
