Curator and filmmaker Ghasideh Golmakani once again presents a colorful collection of current short films – fresh insights into different regions, social milieus and narrative styles. Both female and male filmmakers take a look at protagonists big and small. Most of the films deal with gender issues and are often poetic, ironic and playful: the harassed emergency doctor, the film casting and the boy without a bathroom.

Followed by a discussion with the curator!

Ghasideh Golmakani (* in Tehran) studied art history and cultural studies at the Sorbonne in Paris. She directs documentary films in which she attempts to show the contrasts and contradictions of Iranian society.

Die Kuratorin und Filmemacherin Ghasideh Golmakani präsentiert erneut eine bunte Sammlung aktueller Kurzfilme – frische Einblicke in verschiedene Regionen, soziale Milieus und Erzählweisen. Filmemacherinnen wie auch männliche Filmschaffende blicken auf kleine und große Protagonist*innen. Meist geht es um Genderfragen, und nicht selten wird es poetisch, ironisch und verspielt: beim bedrängten Notarzt, beim Film-Casting und bei dem Jungen ohne Badezimmer.

Ghasideh Golmakani (* in Teheran) studierte in Paris Kunstgeschichte und Kulturwissenschaften an der Sorbonne. Sie führt Regie bei Dokumentarfilmen, in denen sie versucht, die Kontraste und Widersprüche der iranischen Gesellschaft aufzuzeigen.
