Sohrab’s wife Mahgol wants to emigrate, his father is getting on his nerves, his job as an editor is getting on his nerves and the authorities want him to become an informant to shorten his impending sentence. So he hides in his dreams – and as a barista in his uncle’s café. But Berke wants to put on an activist performance there. Navid Mihandoust shot “Café” while he himself was waiting to start his prison sentence – a sadly ironic, allusive work about freedom of expression, coping with grief and the role of art and cinema.
